The customer facing appearance of your store is not affected in any way by Realtime View.
The app is only being used to show real time event to you, the merchant.
In terms of performance, a very small script is being used to report the customer events. This script will not affect the performance of your store in any way.
The script is installed via Shopify's secure Web Pixel functionality, which ensures performance, security and privacy. Read more about Shopify pixels here
If you wish to temporarily disable the script to verify that your store performance is not affected, you can do so by selecting "Disable" in the data flow section of the app settings.
